Hello Nashville...SUP's are On the Way...

We just got a big 10 board/paddle order for SUP's out of Nashville today...so we're gonna throw a bit of love out that way...;-)

Little Big Town's Karen Fairchild recently shot the video for "A Ride Back Home," her duet with John Mellencamp from his Life, Death, Love and Freedom album...one of the most acclaimed of his career...

Relevance??? Wayulll...I get it...don't worry...
I'm not turning into another blah...blah...blogger just trying to share their mundane boring life with anyone who'll listen...;-)

We'll kinda get to the relevance of Nashville a bit later...;-)
What matters now is that LBT (Little Big Town) is playing our big little town, manana...as did John Mellencamp last July...you can hear a couple of his tracks on our music jukebox...

IMO, LBT is a country inflected Fleetwood Mac'ish inspired band...they've even played with Lindsey Buckingham...

Little Big Town's Karen Fairchild found herself up in Bloomington last week, shooting a video with John Mellencamp for a song called "A Ride Back Home."

The song is from John's Life, Death, Love and Freedom album, produced by T-Bone Burnett (who also produced the Grammy-winning Robert Plant and Alison Krauss album), and Karen features prominently as a harmony vocalist on the album. "A Ride Back Home" is a duet, and Mellencamp's peeps are hoping the video will receive airplay on GAC and CMT.

"I would love it if country radio would play that," Karen said. "The song is one of my favorites on the record. John says it's about loneliness. For me, it seems like a song about a man contemplating his life and asking the important questions."

"The song's about life's loneliness, and that's what we tried to get across in this video, but I don't see it as sad," John added. "It's more of a timeless, positive, spiritual message. When I looked at the chapel where we shot it, I thought of June Carter and the Carter Family up there. Karen sang on about half the Life, Death, Love and Freedom album with me in this fashion, so it just made perfect sense for her to be in the video. She's such a great singer."

John and Karen shot the video in a chapel on the Indiana University campus, where they had to physically remove dozens of Hoosier fans who were there praying for the return of Coach Bobby Knight.

Actually, that's not true. Well, the part about shooting the video in the chapel is true. Anyway, you'll see for yourself, at least if the country video networks deem it flame worthy. As for Little Big Town, those folks are out on the road, playing tropical spots such as Boise, Idaho...(Santa Ynez, California)

"The shows have been going amazingly well, in spite of a bad economy," Karen said. "I think people want the escape."

"For Nashvillians looking to escape, Bloomington is actually a beautiful town … in the spring. The late spring"...

As is Santa Ynez in late Winter...;-)

Here's our shipping department readying that double digit SUP order from Nashville today...

Kamiah holding down the fort...me thinks that she'd rather be surfing...;-)

Even redneck women like Nashville country star, Gretchen Wilson, love to surf...

We've even heard that President Obama has done some standup paddling...nice way to wash the stresses of the day away...

Almost half way done...four down...six to go...double boxed and ready for the road....hey, if it was easy anyone could do it...even a caveman...;-)

Speaking of cavemen...no reason to sit home and freeze in the dark...watching your 401K turn into a 101K...you only live once...don't wait for the guv'mint to provide you with stimulus plan...stimulate yourself...friends & family, with a standup paddleboard...you can do it...we can help...

Nuts and bolts of the operation...moving big gear...totally choreographed...kinda like SUP "roadies"...;-)

The continuing saga...just when you think the standup paddling gear can't get much kewler...the Naish "Glide" and the new Naish 9'3" just showed up in the states...now, we got some more testing to do...seems a days work is NEVER done...no rest for the weary...;-)

OOOPS!!! Ruh roh...did I confuse Naishville with Nashville, again...dang, gotta remember to get some sleep...;-)
