Naish 12', 14', & 17' Glide
We just received the first AST version of the 12' Naish Glide (MSRP $1599)...
We have a hard time keeping the
12' Naish Glide (MSRP $1899) in stock...these new AST models are going to be RED HOT at that pricing level...

Also, coming in August is the new 14' Naish Glide and the new 17' Naish Glide...these boards are already very competitive...L@@K at the results of the OluKai SUP race last week...

"Maui presented the competitors of the 2009 Olu Kai race from Maliko to Kanaha with unexpected and untypical conditions. Due to the absence of wind, the Maliko run which is usually windy turned into a California style paddle board race with glassy conditions.
Dave Kalama set his new Naish Glide 17’0” preproduction sample to good use winning the unlimited class, while Jerry Bess,Kai Lenny and Michi Schweiger proved the Naish Glide 14’0” to be a board to count on by winning their classes in the 14 foot fixed fin category.
Neptune Paddles has a couple of pics of Dave Kalama and Kai Lenny from the race...

Naish is now looking forward to see new Glide boards prove the current success during the 4th Annual Naish Paddle Championships on Maui."

Holy Jesusita!!!
No stoked paddling news today...sorry...:-(
We want to take this opportunity however, to thank our clients and friends for their thoughts, prayers, & patience...as we go into the 4th day of the out of control, Jesusita Fire, here in the Santa Barbara area...a SB Fire Chief told the press today that "all hell broke loose" last night...wind gusts over 60 mph fanned the flames into a blazing inferno...
Here is a map showing the extent of this massive fire in respect to the city proper...

6:00 PM update...Funny thang wind...as windsurfers we used to
"pray for wind"...even was a tshirt design...but, tonight...like the last several nights...we hope and pray that we don't get ANY wind...let alone a
Sundowner wind tonight...definitely right now...no need to be a hedonistic
wind fiend...there's a time and a place for
wind fiending...;-)
L@@ks way less likely...the RH has gone up...evapotransporation rates have gone way down...and barometric pressures are relaxing...certain criteria have to be met for localized hurricane force winds to materialize...
here's why...

We are still shipping boards out all across the country and prepping boards for local pick up...but, it's been hectic...hang in there with us if you've been emailing or calling...we will get back to you...especially, for any locals that may have lost their paddling gear like in the Tea Fire...we'll do everything we can to get you back out there as quickly and inexpensively as we can...
Many of us have been trying to do our part to help the community out by taking in evacuated locals and animals during this crisis...only to be evacuated ourselves...
Tens of thousands of folks (over 30,000) ~ 1/3 of the city's population are under mandatory evacuation orders...they are anxiously waiting to repopulate their homes...
We hope that all of our friends in their various fire fighting and law enforcement jobs stay safe...and continue to do the stellar jobs that they are doing to contain this unprecedented fire disaster...
Don't really enjoy taking pics of fire...we're over it, quite frankly...3 major fires in the last 9 months...and, we still can kinda "smell" the smoke and ash on the charred palms in our neighborhood from the Painted Cave fire in 1990...lots of visual reminders...
Here's a pic I took from La Cumbre (Sears) Plaza...fire making it's way into the Upper State St. residential and business zone...

Stevie Muraoka took a few pics from same Vons supermarket parking lot later on Thursday night as the fire progressed...
here...and
here...
Taken just an hour ago L@@King past Cathedral Oaks up towards San Marcos Pass...
This Ventura County chopper pilot and his buddy are animals...they've saved countless homes and memories...

Kevin Steele has some great images
here and
here...
Sean Checketts posted up images from
Day1 Day2 &
Day3...
Professional photographer, Isaac Hernandez, has shots of
homes destroyed in Mission Canyon...
Bo Criss has some
amazing shots...
KEYT Channel 3 has had excellent local coverage of the fire...they took a few on the nose after their
Tea Fire coverage in November...
A great local online resource is
EdHat...
