ISPO "Brand new" Award Goes to Imagine Surfboards

ISPO "Brand new" Award Goes to Imagine Surfboards

Imagine Surfboards Eco technology [and Split Board] won not only the "best in category" at the very prestigious ISPO "Brand New Product" contest, but also won the "Overall best product".

For 10 years now, the ispo BrandNew Award is the trend barometer in the sports industry and the world's largest newcomer competition...the best innovations and products of young companies that have been chosen by an international jury...

Judging was very hard as there were countless great submissions and fantastic inventions of all kinds, but that combination of the ecological aspect of our boards combined with the dedication to creating a board which puts performance on an equal footing with ecological, and the simple and functional solution to airline travel, meant that they were ultimately impressed with Imagine's submission.

Here are some pics of the new Imagine ECO boards heading our way...
I'll have a 9'er to play with next week...then, we'll have a container of split, and one piece, Imagine ECO SUP's in February...get your name on the list if you want to lock down availability of this first round...$999 1-Piece...$1199 2-Piece...

Jay (Aquamoose) Butki Sequence

Jay (Aquamoose) Butki ( "Paddler of the Week" : paddleboard.com) nearly gets picked off powering through the surf on Joe Bark's personal brand new
(never ridden) carbon 18'6" SUP, to get to the start line at the Oceanside Becky Stuart Memorial race earlier this month...

He arrived late and couldn't find a parking spot...the surf was firing...everyone else paddled to the start line out of the harbor mouth...
Jay had to make up a little time...ya got's to do what ya got's to do...

This is what Jay had to say...

"I wasn't about to be picked off-I timed the righthander and the lefthander coming at
me so I could squeak through.

I was pretty sure Joe's glass jobs could handle the air drop on the back side..."

Here's a gallery of shots from the sequence where big Jay (Aquamoose) Butki hung on the precipice of destruction...
he sure makes that 18'6" BARK L@@K small...

Joe Bark's race boards definitely are not disposable...dunno if anyone else's would have survived the air drop out the backside...

SYNERGY : Sailing Into the New Year

An added bonus to several of the standup paddle board lines that we sell, is that they are also sailable...

Starboard...Naish...& the Mark Nelson shaped Mistral Pacifico Wave...

Whether or not you decide to sail them, you get a better built board...and, one with better resale value...

The sail attachment area is dead center...exactly where you stand to paddle a SUP...
This area is reinforced for the extra stress of a sail rig...the fin boxes are also reinforced...

Of course, they all come with built-in handles...all of the SUP's we carry do...

Now, we introduce the value driven Severne Synergy sail rig package to unlock the hidden value in your SUP...

The Synergy rig is the perfect blend of simplicity and performance in one dedicated package. Every component in the Synergy rig was developed from the ground up to ensure easy assembly, maximum durability and real performance.

Every package comes with clear instructions, no prior knowledge is required...

These sail rigs are half the cost if the components were purchased separately...

2009 Synergy Rig Package (Complete) : 4.8m2 : $699
2009 Synergy Rig Package (Complete) : 5.4m2 : $739
2009 Synergy Rig Package (Complete) : 6.0m2 : $749
2009 Synergy Rig Package (Complete) : 6.7m2 : $775
2009 Synergy Rig Package (Complete) : 7.3m2 : $799

Pricing is aimed specifically at the standup paddler / windsurfer looking for simplicity... the Synergy is also ideal as a package that can be shared amongst a family due to the large range of sizes and adjustment. The sail incorporates our newest design ideas in shaping, stability and performance. A single Synergy tension combination works with all sizes.

All components carry color coding for quick reference to correct size.

Here is a shot of SUP windsurfing on the Naish...

It's a blast when the wind picks up...
I was standup paddlesurfing earlier this day before the wind came up...quickly went back to the van and threw a sail rig together...15 minutes later I was back on the water...
