Dan Gevere, our rep from
Werner Paddles, had this to say about his 7'6" Imagine Eco SUP 2 piece after riding it on Oahu's North Shore...
BOARD REVIEW:“My board Specs: 7'6"x29"x4.5in My Specs: 165 lbs, 5'10" SUP paddling 3 yrs, and I came off of a 8'11"x28x4.25 La Pistola
First off this board is for experienced paddlers with great SUP Balance and want something to smack the lip and take a vertical approach to SUPing a wave. Although the 2 pc system is a prototype and the first of its kind in a SUP board I was very impressed with the strength and durability of the system. I did notice a little movement in the middle along the seam but once it was surfing it couldn’t feel it at all-maybe because I was having so much fun. I know small improvements have been made to take care of this. On the water it was superb while riding the wave, turning faster than any other board I have ever ridden. The width made it easy to paddle for its length and I had no problems getting into head high No Shore surf with it. Many of the surfers were commenting on how fast it looked down the line and I felt some serious G's on a few bottom turns. The rail held the high line excellent and the 4WFS system rode great in both the quad and thruster set-up, but I eventually settled on the thruster setup because of my riding style. The pulled nose made busting through the whitewater much easier as the board would lift over the top and resurface straight up and predictably if it went under. I never saw the nose pearl on a drop in, and was amazed at how late i could kick out of the wave. This board is a serious carving machine and can be enjoyed by experienced well conditioned paddlers in any type of surf. It actually tracked well for being so short and I could take about 5-7 strokes per side before having to switch sides.
After my session I dropped the board off of my head straight onto some nasty North Shore rocks after slipping on a boulder and to my amazement it simply looked like a minor contusion below the surface of the laminate but no crack. WOW any other board and I would of had to get it repaired.
Overall impression: I have never been so stoked about a SUP board before.
I got the beefy construction which is nice for those of us who are hard on boards
The 2-pc system works and I never felt it on the wave. The most Organic ride I have ever felt and I am excited about it.”

ISPO "Brand new" Award Goes to Imagine Surfboards
ISPO "Brand new" Award Goes to Imagine Surfboards
Imagine Surfboards Eco technology [and Split Board] won not only the "best in category" at the very prestigious
ISPO "Brand New Product" contest, but also won the "Overall best product".
For 10 years now, the ispo BrandNew Award is the trend barometer in the sports industry and the world's largest newcomer competition...the best innovations and products of young companies that have been chosen by an international jury...
Judging was very hard as there were countless great submissions and fantastic inventions of all kinds, but that combination of the ecological aspect of our boards combined with the dedication to creating a board which puts performance on an equal footing with ecological, and the simple and functional solution to airline travel, meant that they were ultimately impressed with Imagine's submission.
Here are some pics of the new Imagine ECO boards heading our way...
I'll have a 9'er to play with next week...then, we'll have a container of split, and one piece, Imagine ECO SUP's in February...get your name on the list if you want to lock down availability of this first round...$999 1-Piece...$1199 2-Piece...
